Why do dumb people clap on landing?
This photo summarizes the indignation of the Cretan population towards the German occupiers during WWII. This old man looks his executioners in the eye and tells him that he does not fear death. Shortly after the photo was taken by another German soldier, all these people were executed in Kontomari, Chania.
